The Core Elements of Nursing Letter of Recommendation

A hospital manager or a healthcare employer often has to write a nursing letter of recommendation when such a letter is requested or when they want to delegate their nurses to another organization or company. Nurses can use their application and resume to get approved for a new job, but if they also have a recommendation letter, this letter may strengthen their standing.

If you have to write a nursing letter of recommendation upon a request, you have to make sure that the letter includes the following elements.

Introduction

When you are writing a nursing letter of recommendation, your recipient would be the person who will employ the nurse. It is thus necessary to write a proper introduction that clearly and briefly states to whom the letter is directed (the recipient’s name or a simple phrase like “to whom it may concern”) and the purpose of the letter.

Body

The body of the letter is the main part that the reader often jumps directly to when reading the letter. Write the most important topics of the letter here, such as the nurse’s attitude, ethos, and experience.

This part should reiterate in a briefer sentence what you have written in the body part of the nursing letter of recommendation. Also, state in this part whether you recommend the nurse for the new job.
